If you are going to fill up a tote then you need to keep the lid on it and fasten it good so as to support the sides from buckling.
This has worked really well for me ---this one is over 2 years now and is fine.
As you can see I just cut a hole in the top inbetween the rib supports
there should be alot more pics by other reefers on this thread

yeah, i knew the rocks would cut easily on the chop saw since thier just calcium carbonate, but i wasnt anticipating that one green rock not being your standard garden variety piece of LR... so if my blades messed up its because of that rock. i blew through the regular rocks as if it were MDF, thats what it reminded me of because it was so soft. when i finally get around to drilling my rocks ill probably just use a spaid bit instead of a masonry bit. when i was looking at the pics of how nanogurls boyfriend drilled his rocks it looked as if he were using a spaid bit. again im pretty sure it'll work because the rocks are so soft.

see, look at me, i cant stop! you say your daughter is still in school? she must be pretty young then? i was guessing she's at least 28, and i know that sounds bad, but im a horrible judge of age. its probably because her pictures make her look distingueshed?
and marc, you've been in the same room as jr. miss fairfield ca before. (my wife) that was at macna houston and the arc meeting. i was just too much of a wussie to say hi. we know how that went down :lol:

ryan, congratulations on the pregnancy! your gonna love being a father, its a blast! all the fun things you may have missed out on as a kid, you can just do with your own kids! and you even get good dad points while your at it! i spent the weekend in port aransas with my daughter, and now i have a new favorite beach which i will convince my wife is a great place to take our kids at least once a month

At our DFWMAS monthly meeting, Marc asks me if she can sing? I asked what kind of music he likes and he tells me something pop like Britney Spears. I about choke; half in laughter, half in disgust. After a second to recompose myself I politely said she doesn't like pop but can do country, classical, Broadway etc.

ide imaging the polyp extention will get better with time, what counts is that you were able to keep it alive. hopefully most of everything else has survived? what up with the color n the 2 different pics? did you have the coral under different lights, or was the lighter color a reaction to stress?
what was your theory about the red bugs and flat worms? when you kill the red bugs it clears the path for flat worms or something?

on the color - I'm not sure why the other pic is more redish hue. I usually don't do much to enhance anything. I t could be the 400 10ks were on, I noticed (and posted earlier) the 400s really bring the red out.
I do suspect about 4 things contributed to the AEFW as now I think they were always around but were in check so to speak (posted a while back). As to the red bug connection if it exists: I believe they compete for the same food source but for some reason the redbugs win out. I don't know if they kill off the AEFW's but I would't be one bit surprised if they do as a protect their food source. So, no more redbugs, no more competition ( and possibly no more assassinations), so the AEFW's bloom.

Not a bad picture through 3' of water
still not sure what got the other one, parameters all look fine, and I've been looking late at night and in the morning for "Marcworms" or other predictors but nothing spotted. My best guess right now is I knocked something on it like some salt build up on the top of my tank.
