Ok one last ? I don't see the reeflux bulbs on their website. Am I missing them? I know they used to be there.

Are most of you using these as pendants or putting them in canopies? I am considering switching to pendants (from an all in one fixture) but I haven't been able to figure out how I would still use PCs or VHOs to supplement. Any ideas I might be missing? I don't want a canopy and want to run actinics. Thanks!

Unless you use 14k-20K bulb, I think you will need actinics. It's hard to say what you need. Everyone is different. Some likes white. Some likes blue. Some likes yellow

That is, until I saw this GB. Now I am having the itch to jump into the GB with you guys and switch to SE. But what am I going to do with the pretty penny I invested on the DEs?

hey tonggao, just wondering how you liked the reeflux 10k and 12k de bulbs in terms of color/intensity/etc..
Otterpop, I run icecap electronic ballasts. 10k has good intensity, but gives out a slight pinkish hue after fully warmed up (when first turned on, icecap ballast seems to go through several stages, at the second to last stages, it gives out perfect intense clean white light with very slight blue hue). It shows blue corals well, but red/pink corals colors are a little washed out. 12k gives perfect clean white color with a little blue hue (very similar to 14k Hamilton I used to run), but has lower light intensity.
I ran 12k for a about a month, and switched to 10k with VHO actinic to get more growth since I have a newly setup tank, and like to see the frags to grow faster. It took a little while to get used to the slight pinkish color of the 10k, but it is really not too bad, at least I did not see the yellow color a lot of 10k bulbs show.
