Well I am just preparing until my new ph probes come in. I don't have calibration fluid so I can't tell if the ones i have now are accrate but I think it is because I tried 4 old probes and all close in readings. I have been losing sps and maybe this is the problem. My ph at night is only 8.2
how do you reduce???
My levels are
Alk-8.8
Cal-425
Mag-1300
po4-.03
Salinity -1.025
Ph-8.2-8.4
I do water changes once a week and I always had problems keeping my ph up because my sump is in basement and tank is in my office with no windows. I had to use Kalk to bring it up but have not used in 6months ever since I been seeing my ph first be in the 8.2 range.
I do keep my frag tank lights on opposite time of DT so not sure if I shops not do this anymore?

8.2 is very acceptable, its actually my prefered ph, high enough for a healthy tank, but not so high that the pumps jam every two days.

8.2 is the lowest it reads on my graph of apex and that is at night... The highist it gets during the day time is 8.49 and average is 8.39-8.42. And you that is fine??? It's just weird that sps not happy and even looks like I am getting what alk burn looks like on the sps

your pH isn't the problem. Look elsewhere.

I agree with the others ph is not your problem. I would check your alk with a second kit it sounds to me like alk swings. How regularly do you check your alk numbers? Are you carbon dosing or using biopellets? How big of a water change are you making?
