Phils new tank

Got the skimmer up and running last night. Have to get a new shaft though from PA. It is a little worn and noisy. Still one small leak in the plumbing, but it is right over the sump so not real waorried about that one. I am going to try to get the electrical done tonight and all mounted, as well as start adding some of the coral back from my daughters tank

Man, that must be oneheck of a balanced mesh job for it to run so smooth. Who hooked you up with that? lol

Well, after it ran for a while, it was sounding pretty rough again. I ordered my new shaft from PA today, and hopefully it will be tomorrow, but it was loud enough that I shut it off so I didn't take a chance on hurting the pump.

Just a heads up people. If you have a shaft on your skimmer that is showing signs of wear. Replace it!! once the polished surface is bad its going to go fast.

Phil you will most likely need the shaft and the whole assembly. The inside race of the ceramic bushing are worn too. The whole magnet pinwheel comes as one and needs changed out along with the shaft.

Just put some of the coral back in the tank. My frog spawn, my blastos, and a few sps. cross your fingers.

Did you put them rare white sps in there? lol
Good look hope all goes well it sucks to have stuff die off.
Was all your rock kept live? Did you have any kind of a cycle?

Just got home from the lake. I am going to need an ATO hooked up for sure. Also I am starting a diatom out break. All the coral looks good.

I have one that Chad gave me that I will use. I know that Matt V. has one for sale, or did any way.

Diatoms not so bad today.

How long do you have to wait for the diatoms to go away? I never really had them in any other tank so far.

Thanks Chad. I never thought I would like a blue backed tank, but it is growing on me. It is a lot brighter for sure.

I am going through a lot of water it seems to me. I am guessing around 1/2 gal a day.

The tank is looking good still. I am getting some of my SPS back from Corey tonight, and the rest from Jesse here soon I hope.

I will post pics again soon with the coral in it.

Just got my coral in the tank that Corey was holding on to for me. They are great. I already have better polyps than before. I think the corals blew up in his tank. I lost most of my birds nest in his tank, but I got a good branch of it back, and it will grow again. No worries.

I really can't tell all of you how much I appreciate all the help I have been given with the tank crash and swap. I owe you guys alot.
