Phosban Reactor

I use the brs reactor . I also use the 2 little fishes reactor. I prefer the later for visibility ,ease of change out and ease of managing the flow through the media. Some folks prefer the brs reactor.

As for media pelletized or the High Capacity gfo work better than granules in a reactor. The HC has the least dust. You also need a power head in the 150gph/ 200gph range .

I'm going to buy a small phosban reactor for my 60 gallon setup. I'm looking at this one at BRS:

What is the best media to use? I see there are pellets and granular. Is there a preference? What is ROWAphos? Tell me everything I need to know before I buy the wrong thing. Oh, I want a unit that fits outside the sump. Thanks.

i've seen that one being used alot...and i've been out and about all over upstage NY in the last few weeks...;) That is a great price btw...thanks for sharing the link.

From Brs Ive only used the gfo in pellet form.Apparently I had misread the differences between HCgfo and pellet gfo.I used the gfo pellet form and really didnt like it.Its far to dusty imo.I could not rinse it clean or even close to clean .It seems to disinegrate far to easily.

Ihave an order going in on the group buy and have switched to HCgfo, seems to be less dust from what I hear and has the highest binding capacity. It is twice as expensive but I plan on regenerating it.

You see, Kat, my goal in life is to find you great deals on the internet! How'm I doin' so far?

OK, gang...it looks like ROWA phos is the better product, but expensive. Any comments?

Tom, does the 2 Little Fishes unit stand on its own? Seems easier than hanging it on the wall.
