This stag has gone from red, pink, and now seems to have adopted a whitish base in aras. Weird wild suff!

Just out of curiosity, how do you know it's not just getting more and more pale (ie losing zooxanthellae)? I mean, from the pic, it looks like it's basically a white coral with pink/red coralites. Is that healthy? Again, I don't know...just asking.

I was about ready to say, WOW it is definitely red now and grows out in the shape of an "x". It lucks like it has encrusted really well on that square plug.

SDguy - everything appears healthy, it typically appears a little more red as it sits towards the middle (width wise) of my 36" wide tank. I have moved it closer to the glass as it has been looking good of late. Growth is also excellent - about an 1" every 2 months or so.

Unarce - this guy has been in my tank for almost 2 years, and has been in captivity (from a wild colony) since 2003. So no shipping stress is expected

:lol: I just meant that's how it looked.

So, are pink SPS hard to come by now, or are people just getting excited about pink corals being called red? I don't think I've ever seen one that's even close to being red, except for Eric's Red Robin.
