Pic of new clam...what kind is it?

I just picked up this clam today for 45 bucks...How does it look???
It was in the tank for about 4 hours when this pic was taken..Can you tell me what kind it is exactly?

Looks like a crocea, I just got one like that.

Crocea, still not opened up compeletly.

It should be OK though, make sure you put a flat stone under the clam IN the sand croceas likes that.

sweeet!!! i jsut got my first one today. Ill see if i can get pics up here another time to try to get everyone's approval. Even in the bag it wasnt closed up completly. when i put it in the tank it was tight, but after just a little bit it started opening up, so i guess that is a good sign.

Beautiful clam.
Thats really cheap, we have to pay over a hundred dollars and thats for something pretty ordinary like brown.
Anything that green, blue or similar can be hundreds over here in aussie.

I wish we had the choices you have in the USA.

Nice find! I also picked up a 4" crocea for $35 at a lfs. Seems like they can be quite pricey at other places. Guess that's the benefit of being in California???
