Pic of SPS from my 275

Nice Ponape birdsnest. I picked up a frag 2 months ago and it's already my favorite. How long have you had it and how fast of a grower would you say it is? You have it under low light, low flow conditions? I see it's at the bottom of the tank so I would say low light for sure.

Sweet corals. Are you on ap.com too?? Were abouts in the GTA are you....I would love to pay a visit sometime and possibly pick up a frag or two.

Very nice work!! Can we get a FTS.....

I will try to post a FTS later today. I keep my birdnest real low, and with low/moderate flow at best. Remember reading on fragfarmers it was likely a deepwater coral and it has been happy ever since.

dvanacker - I am in Oakville and generally hit the LFS when shipments come in. I am always around.

Regretably, I am banned from AP.com. Difference of opinion with the owner as to how the wide variety of people in this hobby learn and gain experience. Mainly because I know him IMO. Oh well.

I proudly promote the hoddy in Canada on reefescape.ca (but let it be know I have learned a GREAT deal from the masters here on RC).

Thanks Joleen - pics were taken using an Olympus 4M camera, 6x optical zoom with macro capabilities. Nothing fancy, just point and shoot really once you ajust the white balance. FYI us Canadians check your site regularly and are always impressed by your great livestock.

FTS (best I can get, with halides on I could not get a decent pic).

CRAZY TANK!!! I agree with the others, get some closer pictures full tank huh!!

I can barely see any of the fishes, what do you have in there?

Fishes include a Mystery Wrasse, CBB, Mandarin Goby, Carribean Blue Tang (2"), Tomini Tang (2"), Purple Fire Goby and a Blue Tang (4"). I had a school of chromis but I removed them. Hoping to find an Achilies or Black tang to add. Perhaps a couple new wrasses. Have a Peppermint Hog in my sump on a time out as he is a tad bossy.

Shawnts106, the only fish who stays really that thin is the Blue tang, as all other fish graze on the liverock and copepods present in vast quantities. As Cosmo Kramer would say my Blue Tang "has the body of a taughnt pre-teen sweedish boy". Well the old Kramer, maybe not the new one...

At the same time, I have had my blue tang for almost 2.5 years so he adapted.

Camera was returned to its owner, but I will post more pics in the future when some of the sweet frags I have growing out mature a little.

Great Tank!

What kind of lighting and flow do you have your lokani in?
lokani.jpg

Thanks.

Low light, moderate flow in my tank for the lokani. About 8" above the bottom under the indirect light of a 400W 20K XM. If you look in the FTS above you can see it on the left hand side, near the back panel, in the bottom/middle facing the left side panel.

Picture does it no justice let me tell you - much nicer in person, probably the most commented on coral I have. Blue and turquoise/green.

I had it in low flow, low light for a year but upon inspection I noticed that it started to STN, and then one day a little RTN so I cut a medium sized frag (just in case), moved it to medium flow, low light and now it has started to encrust again. I think it became unhappy because detritus was building up inside it being so close to the bottom (and with too little flow). Has been in its new location for about 1.5 months now. Slow grower for me.
