Thanks ycnibrc - no shortage of red and pink in my tank. Recently had to add some greens...

Most be rough when you have to add some green to your tank.

Myka - I trade from time to time, but have access to some good local stores here in Toronto, we are pretty lucky to have some great lifestock providers here. Most of them sell frags. Check out frags.org as well. Check the SPS forum for info on Zeo, not sure what it is myself :)

MiddletonMark - I grew this from a frag I got about a year ago. Don't remember where I got it but I am pretty sure it was not grom Greg. Nice piece though.

Aquariumist - bulb selection and colour really depend on the ballast you are using. I use Maxkor ballasts and my tank looks like I am running 10 bulbs with the 400 20K XM. If you are not running Maxkor ballasts and don't have starphire I would not put faith I the colour of my tank.

dphinsx2 - yes it is a nice problem to have :)

em805 - thanks! Gotta love SPS!

frags.org ships to Canada? I bet that's pricey!!! I've been asking a bunch of the online frag sellers in the US, but no one has replied!

Check the Canadian version of frags.org...I am on there and it is growing every day. Only started in December.

Cabinetry

Cabinetry

So I am starting to frame my stand and canopy this week so I can get my carpenter to make the oak skirt and top. I am pretty sure I know the best way to do it, but anyone have good links or photos of a nice canopy for a 3-sided tank like mine?

One of my main priorities is to have good access to the front and two sides, but NO light come through. I intend on using magnets to hold the panels up when open so there will be no hardware in the way.

Anyway, extra info would be great. I will post pics once I get the framing underway.

Just a example of some growth.

First picture was in December 06, the second was taken in April 07.

nUgZ/invincible569 - Thanks. Pretty happy with the tank these days. My corals never grow THAT quickly as I do not allow them to grow onto the rockwork, I use a pegging system. Happy with the growth none the less.

Mike de Leon - historically my corals come from Reefraft, Where's the Reef and through trades with fellow hobbiests. This piece was acquired from a trade about 2 years back and is the last known living piece from the original colonly, with the exception of the few frags I have distributed (including one back to the original owner of course).

Kip - thanks! Was impressed when I clicked on your your little red house.

tatoofr - I will try and post a pic for you.

Essentially, pegging consists of drilling small holes in your liverock, drilling small holes in the base (rock) of your coral, and insert a piece of rigid tubing (such as rigid airline tubing) to place the coral. This allows you to remove a coral at any time for fragging, to change your look ect., but most importantly to put the coral exactly where you want it, not where it has to go... allows easy coral placement on vertical slopes/walls.

Mike - not selling any frags untill early May as I am preparing for an exam, but after that just let me know what you are looking for.

Dave
