Picassio Clownfish prices.

how do you know what graded they are? I would like to get some but dont want to overpay or be tricked into getting the wrong grade. My lfs has some in but i dont know what grade.

I would recommend the higher grade...the lower grade ones look relatively plain, with slight variations in the barring. I believe to be high grade the stripes must connect or they must have significant deviations from normal barring.

I'm not sure who/how they're graded. Mine has quite a bit of white on one side and just a variation in the bar on the other. Like Chelsey says, my white doesn't connect.

Grade As have more white and connecting 2nd and 3rd bars. Grade Bs have more white, but the stripes generally do not connect. In my area, Grade As are going for about $100 a fish, whereas Grade Bs are going for about $50 a fish. I bought my pair of Grade Bs for $95.

yeah...some grade A make them look too much like snowflakes...that's fine if that's the look you're going after...but i've seen some really nice grade B...unless they're just labeled wrong...

does anyone know when ORA would be having more grade A?
i ordered a grade A from my lfs about a month ago and they told me that they'd order one for me, but that it was probably gonna take sometime, so that's why i'm asking if anybody knows when they'll be having more grade A

It's my understanding that the Grade A Picassos have a modified cross pattern on the white area on the fish. They will also have a white mark or sideburn on the cheek. My dealer has several Grade A picassos in stock. My Picassos have both markings on them.

when i spoke to ORA last week, they said they didn't have a time table on when they'll be shipping out the grade A picasso out to LFS. the grade A are coming out slow from the hatchery. they do have grade B ready to ship...
