Picasso won't eat

On Saturday i got a new Picasso. It's seems to be swimming around ok and its always out in the open but i cant get it to eat at all. It goes at the food but just spits it out. I`ve never had a fish that wouldn`t eat so it kinda worries me. Ive tried frozen mysis and NLS flake also tried both soaked in garlic. Also tried some nutrafin flake and pellets i had laying around. Just wont take anything i have. Any Ideas or suggestions.

Cyclopseze is another great option, and it's really small.
But agree, mine took a few days to eat too, probably just getting used to a different food.

They'll get hungry enough soon. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, just keep doing what you're doing, and they'll eventually crack and gobble up anything you put in.

lol yup, you'll be posting soon, man i cant get these clowns to stop eating enough... lol goodluck it will happen soon....

I have had the most luck on starting fish on frozen brine. If they won't take that, then live brine or blackworms for the super finicky. I always have better luck starting with these vs mysis.

Personally, I would not just wait and hope it eventually eats. I would try other food ^^.

cheers,

COOL,,, IF YOUR GONNA FEED HIM BRINE, TRY THE SPIRULINA BRINE, IT'S BETTER THAN REGUALR BRINE...opps sorry for the caps,, yeah the spirulina brine is healthier than regular ol brine... and he might get used to just brine and thats not to good for him...

I'm just happy to see him eat somthing right now. I will try to push othe rfoods on him once hes a little more settled in. From what i understand brine doesnt have a whole lot to benefit the fish??

That would be correct, brine has little nutritional value.
I find it odd alot finicky fish will go for brine, especially due to lack of nutrtional value, but it seems the case quite often.
Maybe add garlic or vitamin supplement meant for fish for now, but wean it onto healthier foods, mysis, cyclopseze, spectra pellets and such.

massago is ,hands down, the best food to start your clowns eating.By the time fish get shipped to your tank they have been on a fast for a few days. the lightest food is the best food. Kinda like when we have surgery...when we wake up the nurse gives of soup.

agreed.. after the move.. it takes some time for them to start eating.. i bought a pair and one ate right away.. the other took 3 days.. both are now getting really big

+1 on masago. It's fish eggs. Highly nutritional and tastes oh so good! I've never had a fish turn it down.
