I picked this 3" Goldflake up yesterday. He was a little thin and had a nip out of his dorsal fin but he eats flakes and mussels like a champ. He is in my qt with a small chrysurus (separated of course)
My LFS has a juvi Goldflake in for about 7 weeks now. Its had popeye and fin rot but it was treated. I might look at it a little more closely soo, but I think I'd rather get a regal or scribbled and I don't think mixing would work out in a 125g.
Doing ok at this point, I say ok because it's not putting any weight on. It eats anything and everything I add to the tank now. I feed 3-4 times a day but mostly 3 times. It waits at the top now for food when I approach and is always out and about swimming around. It will stay in the small tank for at least 2 months.
I ended up getting that juvi goldflake from my LFS. Figured they did all the conditioning and QTing for me, it was alone in its own tank for 4 months with copper and prazipro. How is yours doing?
I didn't update this thread and forgot about it. But I ended up losing the little guy, I'm not sure what exactly happened. I fed the little guy watched him eat some, left the room for 5 minutes and came back in to a dead fish. The Lfs got a few more in this week but I passed.
