Only problem I have with the tank is the out break of cyano......but i do understand that it is a young tank yet and hopefully overtime it will just die out.Any input, question, comments, etc. are welcome.

nice looking tank ...with the cyano you might want to add some powerheads for more flow

Tough to tell. Do they move around in the tank or are they always in the same spot? Do they look fuzzy? Possibly small sponges?

Looks like you're off to a good start. I love the aquascape. I would agree some strategically placed powerheads to increase internal circulation would be good. Flow is just as important (if not more) than lighting, depending on the type of reef you want to keep.

Keep the updates coming. Lookin good.

Some macro shots of the white thingies might help us better identify what you've got going on.

Power heads are on my list as my next investment already, and to recap they don't move around and they are not fuzzy. Also they are flat up against the tank

Can you scrape one off and bring it to the LFS?

I know there are a lot of powerheads on the market, but if you are just starting out, you can't do any better than Maxi-jets. Dirt cheap. They take an absolute pounding, and keep on ticking.

I was pretty sure those white things are eggs being laid by the snails. I get them in my tank as well. As the light hits them, you should be able to make out tiny yellow granular material within them. They eventually open up, leaving a white circle like a coffee ring at the perimeter that will easily scrape off.

Ok so i woke up early this mourning and decided to see what kind of nocturnal action is going on in the tank while the lights are still off. I have some snails that are nocturnal feeders and I saw them hammering away at some cyano which was cool to see. But, I came across these little creatures(pic provided) and they look like worms and they move super quick. Was just wondring if anybody knows what they are?

The small worms may be mini bristle worms Also, have you considdered the small white dots to be Spirorbid Worms? Google that.

Ok are the bristle worms a problem? And the white dots are not those worms....I have those worms on my live rock and I am putting epoxy on them as I see them

bristle worms are generally not a problem, and really comes down to preference. they do provide clean up crew ability and are nocturnal, the downfall is if you reach in the tank you could touch one and it will leave barbed bristles in your hand and from what I understand they hurt a bit. there are a couple of species of the bristleworm that are considered as pests but most likely you've got the kind that arent. the white dots are prob snail eggs of some type, especially if they are right near where the snails hang out alot.

I believe you are thinking of vertimid worms on your rocks Big E. And the Spirorbid Worms are something different.

The white things are Nerite Snail eggs.

The worm-like things could be epitokes from existing bristle worms?

Google both and see if it looks like what you have.

Ok I do have nerite snails so that makes sense and yes fallon they are the vertimid...I mistook them for the others when I saw the pic.
