While in Rocky Point a couple of months ago, I took my family to the CET MAR Aquarium and took a few pictures and short video.

Some type of wrasse or possibly a parrotfish, this one looks very discolored and sick. I've caught fishing the same type of fish and have even found one that buried itself in the sand, they are very bright and colorful, rainbow colored.

Short video clips of feeding and petting the sea lions and the sea turtles. Sorry about the quality of the video, it was taken with my little Canon SD 450.

You're right, it is a bit depressing to see the conditions these animals and fish live in.

thats really the sea turtle habitat!!! ***

yeah can you believe that?!! When I went there 2 years ago there was sting rays and sand sharks in there too.

has anyone else checked out the biology center over there? I took a Marine Biology class a few years back & we based out of the biology center. Anyone doing any sort of scientific research can stay for $20.00 per night. You have to bring a sleeping bag etc & sleep on the floor but it is way cool. They have a big whale skeleton out front.

Yes! You have to make advance arrangements & you are responsible for your own food, cleanup & sleeping arrangements. They want to know the nature of your research & who you are with but it is very informal. I asked if I could come back outside of school & stay there by participating in the great fish count & they said yes, as long as they have enough space at the time.
They have a kitchen & you can bring your food & even cook it but you have to wash the dishes. They have a clothesline- bring your own clothespins. BYO sleeping bag etc & donations are very much appreciated. You can just find a place on the floor somewhere to sleep or even sleep on the beach. Something that I did because there was no AC. They also have a BBQ if you feel like an outdoor cookout. Really nice folks.
