I was on the Republic tower II yesterday in Dallas. I do commercial roofing estimates and inspections. This tower is 600 feet tall and 50 stories high. It was a great view and thought I would share.
MMmmm love that smokey grey smog cloud that always hangs over Dallas lol. When you are driving into Dallas from the south, you know you're getting close by the smog cloud lol. You see it 30 minutes before you can actually see Dallas.
that smog depends on the weather. During the winter months it pretty much disappears. And some days are clearer than others. It was actually a really nice day yesterday.
Very cool ;p Aren't most buildings 10 feet per story? Is this ones dimensions different or did 100 feet get builti n for something else? (Don't laugh I'm computer engineering not civil ;p)
I think if I were actually on that roof I'd get kinda dizzy ;p
the times they are a changing.. I've only been through dallas as a stopover through the airport but it was pretty coo looking from the plane too.. Might have to visit out there someday.. is there a lot of different stuff to do compared to FL?
The Dallas Ft. Worth area kicks butt. There are tons of things to do. If you like shopping there are malls just about on every corner. I have been out there a few times and loved every trip. I wouldnt mind moving out there if I got the chance.
Check out this view from the roof top deck on my building in Deep Ellum. Dallas is a cool place. I love being able to go watch the mavericks, the stars, the cowboys, and the Rangers, all within a few miles of where I live. Not a big deal but the Galleria mall is so big that they have an ice skating rink in the middle of it!
Even when I was 18, I used to drive the 2 hours from my home town to go to the Galleria to go ice skating! Grapevine Mills Mall was always one of my favorites. And you have Six Flags not far from there too. I miss their roller coasters. Those were the days.
Actually chrisstie, Ice hockey is a pretty big thing in that area. I used to have season tickets to the OKC Blazers. You just haven't been to a sporting event until a hockey puck lands in your beer at 70mph lol.
