I was just reading the acclimation process posted on the Sea Life Inc. site and had a few questions..

Has anyone tested the shipping water yet? Does anyone have suggestions for me to acclimate my 2 new inverts (anem shrimp and porcelain crab)?

I checked my salinity this morning and I'm at 1.26, haven't had a chance to check other params. I don't have very much time to drive to middletown and complete the acclimation process before I have to leave again so I'm trying to decide the safest and fastest way to get them into the tank.

Thanks for your help guys!

check on the forum, there is a great thread

Sorry Sue, I was not trying to be mean, I apologize

Duh...... my bad - no need for you to apologize. I should have just figured you left out a word instead of going into "defensive" mode and assuming I was getting reprimanded.

And don't ever stop multi-tasking..... it's something that we females are SO good at and I don't think we could stop even if we tried. :wavehand:

well everything except Charlene's stuff has been picked. her stuff getting picked up Saturday.

so i hope everyone is as happy with the order as i was. post some picks if you can.

nice getting some polyp extension. i need to get some reef smoothie or something to feed the ones i got.

anytime after 830 should be fine . what do you have the the fry may eat? do you think that can of red stuff i gave you would work forget what its called

I make what I call a coral cocktail. It is a combo of food, vitamins and marine snow. I can bring some of that. From what I have read rotifers and marine snow are some of the foods.

Exotic in East Hartford has tigger pods on sale this weekend until monday for $17.00/bottle and they are small size. If you have frozen or the freeze dried, try rubbing some into a fine mixture. They do not open until 10? on Saturday.

You weren't expecting to seadad for awhile. My choice for now would be enrich the water column with some sort of vitamin or supplement until you can get the proper food source. Do you need any foam or filter covers?

The fry may not eat the food source but will use some of it as the breathe.
Do you have any geltec neomyacin? Its an antibiotic but also it stimulates the appetite. I have extra if needed.

Hope some of this helps, Charlene

no geltec neomyacin . good idea on the freeze dried i will rub a bit of powder into the water.
right now they are in my little tank with air line running through a carbon filter. and they are hitching on a piece of macro. figure i will need to do daily water changes. .hopefully one of use can save one. that would be cool . plus i am sure the male is still holding more . i figure he released a few in the bag due to stress.
