Just wanted to show off my new pride and joy added to my tank. He is a very healthy 10". He was eating algae off my starboard 5mins after being put in the tank.

what a gorgeous specimen!

Clown Tang's are my favourite. So gorgeous! My LFS has a lovely little one that I would love to buy and feed up and get fat and healthy. But my tanks not big enough at 150 gallons. Wish I had got a bigger tank now.

Congrats on the fish fella!

awesome looking tank

how about some full tank shots, as I am setting up my 240g bb next week and could use the inspiration.
thanks

Really nice Tang and tank and photos. I have not seen one of these in person and I didn't understand what all the fuss was about from the pictures I had seen, now I get it. :) I like your rocks too, very beautiful corraline and aquascaping.

very nice fish,

I just purchased a much smaller clown 7 days ago, He is only 1/2 the size of yours. He is not near as brialiant either, sort of faded. I hope that his color turns as bright as your guy

What are you feeding your tang? mine is eating some Nori that is about all. he picks at the rocks a bit but not much.
Any advice for other foods he may eat

thanks

Jim

Thanks, They are great looking fish! The rock work was very easy to stack. Haitian rock is not your typical Tonga, Fig rock.

Thanks,

He has yet to eat anything added to the tank. However he grazes all the time on my LR and on my Starboard. I think he will start to eat added food soon. I have seen this with allot of my big fish it takes them a bit longer to figure out the food can be eaten out of the water column.

not to hijack your thread hdtvguy, but here's one shot of my show 10, inch clown tang with my foot long queen angel, enjoy...

hdtvguy, thanx for the kind words. now down to business, i have had my clown tang for a full year now, yippee! i feed him ocean nutrition frozen variety cubes, nori seaweed, spectrum pellets,he eats like a pig. i grabbed him from one of my buddies that manages a wholesale outfit here in northern california. my friend told me that hes eating nori at his wholesale outlet, so i said bring him to me i will take him, the key is just wait it out and he will get hungry enough he will take to prepared foods soon enough. at first introduction the clown tang just wanted the nori seaweed and wouldnt touch anything else i tried to give him, then after about two weeks of just eating the seaweed he started trying out the prepared foods i was giving the 240 and then occasionally started coming around and eating all the frozen i offer the tank everyday now and hes a beast and wont stop eating anything i put in the 240. i love this clown tang and there just so beautiful, thats me and my clown tangs story, yours is a keeper he will be just fine with you, no worries. hope this helps you out a bit hdtvguy, keep in touch and happy phishkeeping...

That a fine looking specimen, hdtvguy.

We get the juveniles in our local rockpools. One of them is definitely on my "to catch list" once my tank is up and running. You gotta look for them though as they are relatively rare, not like the dime a dozen convicts
