Pictures of Bomber's barebottom SPS tank and related equipment

If you grasp and understand the concept of cooking rock then yes you need to cook new cured live rock. Its actualy not new its a couple million years old actualy:p At any rate i wouldnt cook it in the tank for several reasons.
1 is that you could scratch,or break the glass doing the weekly dunk and swish.
2 you would have to cover the sides and that wouldnt be very easy to do in most cases.
3 you can have a huge mess after the weekly dunk and swish to clean out of a tank.Remember you must clean the cook tub and change the water every week. That can be difficult in the tank.
4 Tubs like the rubbermade or plastic trash cans are very inexpensive to buy and use for this.
5 you should pull each rock and dunk and swish in two different buckets before they go back into the cook tub for the week.Doing this would make a mess from water drippping from the rocks when taking them from the tank to the buckets.

I can see doing in the tank if space isnt available to do all these things like if you live in an appartment or dont have a garage.

I don't post much here but here is a picture of my 100 BB Cube.

Thought I would bring this back from the dead heh. One of my friends here in Italy is interested in BB and I wanted to show him photos of Bomber's tank, since it pretty much sets the standard. I've searched and searched but all of the old photos are coming up as red X's.

Bomber's tank definitely sets the standard. I'd love a piece of that stag!

Yah...

I know he's out there... ;)

I wish he would stop in on HIS threads once in awhile. There's a big part of this community that would benefit from his reefing experience.

I really like the look of this tank. I am wondering how wide a tank needs to be to pull off this style of aquascaping.

Does anyone know the dimensions of Bomber's tank?

I'm planning on a 250 DD barebottom system. Say after a year (is there a time frame?) or I decide that I want to add sand. Is that a possiblity?
