pictures of cuttlefish at Ocean Treasure

Just wanted everone to know. IT takes a lot to keep one of these alive so Don't run out to your LFS asking for them. I saw Rich's setup 75+ gal just to keep 2 cuttlefish nothing else .Lifespan less then 2years. Nice to look at but don't ask for them since most will die in transite or in the LFS or soon after you brought one.
Thanks

I can't believe they have this in LFS already. Maybe a month ago i saw a documentary about this "New" found species of cuttlefish which I believe is still under scientific study due to its color, size, and off course the VENOM it contains.

The cool thing about them is they walk not swim.

This is not a new animal. :D They both swim and walk. A few weeks ago there was a NOVA program about cuttlefish that talked about the flamboyant, it mentioned that the flesh was toxic, but didn't say anything about venom. However, there has been no published work to confirm the NOVA program. Anything on TV has a tendency to sensationalize, so we all need to be careful about relaying facts from tv shows. :D

They show up in the trade from time to time, as adults, which means they will only survive in aquariums for at most months. Very few people in the US have kept them - they also ship horribly and have all the issues that any ceph has.
