Pictures of my tank

For those who have been asking for pictures, here they are.

Took a bunch of pictures of my tank last night and thought I'd share. Sorry for the low res/quality. I don't own photoshop nor do I have the time to edit pictures, so WYSIWYG. Enjoy!

Very Nice Ken! I think I may need to purchase, or do some trading, more frags off of you when you start fragging. :D The ones I purchased from you are doing great!

Actually, I might be doing more than fragging very soon. The g/f and I have been talking for a while about buying a house and we are finally getting close to pulling that trigger. So I'm contemplating selling everything and starting fresh with a larger in-wall project after we get into the new house.

Great pics Ken. I love the tanks that are fully grown in like yours. Nice array of colors. Don't forget to post those pics of the new skimmer when it arrives.

Lighting is 3 250w MH and 3 48" T5's. Two of the MH (left and right) are EVC 14k SE in Luminarc mini reflectors, while the center MH is a Reeflux 12k in a spider. The tank has a center brace which is why I use the lower kelvin/higher intensity light to balance out the lighting. All the MH's are run on IceCap ballasts.

Yes, "grown in" is an understatement. After 6 years of running this tank the corals have taken over every inch of space. I built almost the whole tank from frags and rescued corals which have all grown like crazy. I started a frag tank and now that is full as well.

i had the privilege of seeing ken's tank in person and it is even more amazing that just looking at the pictures. the colors he has are unbelievable and its quite inspiring to think that those large colonies came from frags! hope to by some more from you in the future, let me know when you start to frag that crazy blue acro(pic 11)

amazing tank, post pics of sump and filtration

cb
Thanks for the compliment. Really hard to get any pics of my sump/refugium the way it is jammed under my stand. I can tell you that it is a 50 gallon tank with 3 chambers. First section is the skimmer compartment where the overflow dumps into. Second is the refugium with a DSB and Chaeto macroalgae lit by cheap work lights, and the final section is for the return pump. I don't use socks or other filters other than a DIY carbon cannister for water polishing. My current skimmer is a home made Deltec copy with a sedra feed and aquabee recirc pump. The new skimmer (being built) is a mutant AquaC 240 being custom with some custom features inspired by gcarroll's skimmer. I'll post pictures once it arrives.

Awesome Ken. It's been a while since I have seen your tank in person. More beautiful than I remembered. Great job.

It's constantly growing and ever changing, which is what I love about reef tanks.

KEn,

Damn you coral whore! Very nice collection. Let me know if you decide to break the tank down. I be intrested in some colonies.
