hey all. I just got back from a week long trip today, and when i came home my small juvi maroon clown has 1 zit/pimple/white extruding dot behind its side fin.

Im looking for the disease link with pics but cant find it. can anyone please point me in a direction? a name for what disease this could be, pictures?

he seems to be eatting ok, and acting the same.. but ive been gone for a week so i dont know how long its been there. :(

reef.. yeah it is white. I just pulled everything out. still looking for camera

It doesent have anything 'hanging' from the pimple.. but it doesent look good :(

Does it look like this? Btw, this is not my fish.

ok. heres a picture. It seems like my female may be developing one between her eyes now. its raised up like a pimple, white.

they werent terribly interested in eating, but they did eat a little bit

the female keeps trying to rub hers on the anemone. the baby seems unhappy

going to lfs early tomorrow to get enough water so i can set up the qt tank. but i dont know what to treat them with yet

i was reading about that. if it starts to get bigger, ill believe it. but im looking at parasites right now, worms etc. im not finding anything similer

ok. so.. is it spreadable to other fish?

Is it true that theres no treatment, and it'll 'go away on its own'?

what caused it? my tanks perimeters was pretty on even though i was gone a week. i had alot of light algea on the glass...

I dident have the sitter dose with anything for the 5 days.
but i usually dose with
calcium
dhk buffer (when needed)
coral vital
and i soak food in selcon sometimes

salinity was only up to 1.026 i keep it at 1.025

I'm no expert, but I dont believe its contagious and there are no known cures. However, the good news is that it isnt usually life threatening as long as it doesnt obstruct the mouth area and thereby interfere with eating and/or it affects the gills. Its to the fish what warts or a cold is to your or me. This virus is stress related. You will need to boost the fish's immune system so that the fish can fight this virus off. Make sure the water quality and food is excellent.

Do like a 30 percent water change and add some carbon. Then keep the lights off for the that day and then turn them on the next day. Things should look better. Soak some of your food in garlic and feed it to your clowns.

one of my clowns has the same thing, my water quality is excellent, but it just comes and goes over time. It just reappeared back after months of it being gone.

I wouldn't sweat it to much. If it grows well then yes. Start sweating but if it stays that size and you feed good quality food and your water is pristine, I don't see why it won't go away. Is your female being really aggressive towards your male maroon?
