Pink elephants location

So I grabbed pink elephants from the swap. When they were received the skirts were semi pink brown. Now I just saw them and their brown with faint pink streak running across them. Where are you guys positioning them to get that pink back? All the other corals are holding their colors with no problems. Thanks

If they came from me, then they were like 2-3" below water surface in my in-sump frag tank. There aid a 4-bulb T5HO about 6" above the water. 3 blue plus, one aquablue special.

The Elephants like to be deeper in my tank anywhere from the sand bed to about 6 inches above. They will get big and fluffy with very nice pink/green colors.

It wasnt labeled for the swap as far as members name. It was a pretty large frag with big heads. Plus awesome aiptasias LoL. I guess im gonna have to play with this paly since im getting conflicting depth ranges.

I have my pink elephants laying on the sand bed roughly 24" below my kessil a350 and i'm getting great color and growth.

Under my MH they were 16 inches from the 250 watt radius. The most pink and blue by far. Mine loved higher light. This was my experience though.

It would be great one day to discuss actual par values instead of "x inches down", which doesn't take into account type or brightness of light, efficiency of reflector, opacity of water, how many of those inches are through water versus air, etc.

With our wonderfully swollen ranks, are there are enough members and enough budget now for the club to get a par meter? Like the club's band saw, it would be a useful tool that many could benefit from.
