I was considereing ordering a few Pink Squar Anthias. 1 Male & 2 female to be specific.

I really like these fish, and the colors are amazing, but I never seen them. Does anybody have any expirence with these Anthias? Does anybody know how good the Mortallity rate is, or any tricks to keeping them.

I currently have a 125gal 4x2x2 Mixed Reef

- 2 Pur Clown
- 1 Green Chromis
- 1 Yellow Tail Dams
- Yellow Tang
- Tomi Tang

I have three in my 265 along with some lyertails . I haven't had any trouble with them about food . they eat flake and frozen with gusto. the male is a bit pushy with his takmates. but i don't think/remember him killing anybody. they get kinda big and really enjoy alot of swimming room . I've heard the males don't ship as well as the females (not sure if this is true) but as far as color goes the male is hard to beat ! good luck if ya get them !

Thanks! It's good to hear from somebody that has actually owed them. Did you pick them up from a LFS or did you order them online?

local fish store. I've never purchased fish on line. I want to see them first .make sure they are eating and looking healthy.... i did buy two females first with hopes of one turning male . but that took way to long . so i just bought a male .. everyone has been happy since .. my lyretails figured out who was gonna be the male much quicker and his change happened almost as fast . as far as feeding my squares get two meals a day during the week (frozen) and a pinch of flake . during the weekend they eat about four times a day.

I had two males in my old 210g reef. The first one only lasted about a month but the second one was with me for almost 3 yrs. From my experience and from what Ive heard they can be hard to acclimate... but once settled in they do fine.
