Pink Tail Trigger advice?

I have a friend selling off his tank. His favorite fish is a Pink Tail Trigger that he wants me to put in my 450g to ensure it gets a good home. It is XL in size and has never had trouble with other fish (small or large) or shrimp or other CUC.

Should I take him?

Oh ya, they are beautiful.

Personally I have never seen any pinktails that nipped at coral or other fish.
I find blue throats are similar in behaviour and mine has a strong bond with my cleaner shrimp.
Take him you would be doing something very great for this fish as there are too many people who through them in little 55 gallon tanks.

Not sure what you have in your tank but I'd consider it. They can get territorial for their spot in the tank but it shouldn't go looking for fights.

Thanks both.

I have varied typical reef fish (small gobies to tangs), mixture of sps and lps coral, lots of CUC (hermits and snails) and 2 cleaner shrimp.

Mine is now pushing 8 years old. He's an awsome fish. The only problem I have ever had with him is introducing new snails. He thinks they are food. But as long as I drop them in behind the rocks while he's not looking or at night, then it's no problem.

Here he is in my 400G from a few years ago. He's about 8" long. And yes, that toadstool IS 15" across. ;)
