Pinpoint Wireless Thermometer Issues

I have been experiencing a problem with my Pinpoint wireless thermometer that I purchase from Marine Depot, and unable to find any technical support from American Marine. I have only been using the device for approximately 1 week and the sensors are randomly sending erroneous readings. I came home on Monday and the sensor that's monitoring the display tank was reading 112 deg F. So I verified using another thermometer that the water temp was actually 80.6 deg F. Since then I have been power cycling and pulling batteries in an attempt to "reset" the devices with partial success. Anyone else experienced these problems? Who can I contact to ask questions?

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Please email us at customercare@marinedepot.com, or call us for an RMA number. We will be happy to test the unit for you and replace if it is defective. These American Marine Thermometers are usually very reliable and problem free.

Here is American Marine's contact information:
email: info@americanmarineusa.com
phone: 800-925-4689

They are not always there to answer calls; however, if you leave them a message, they will get back to you the next business day.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

Sincerely,
Joseph

Thanks for the reply Joseph. I also found this unusual behavior. So I was going through different scenario's concerning positions of the devices, electrical interference, but nothing seen to have any affect. It would be nice if American Marine would add a "Troubleshooting" section to to work from.

I also had similar problems. The unit is able to read temps from 4 sensors and sensor #1 is the default. Well, that stopped working. I eventually had to switch sensor numbers. I switched it to the # 2 sensor and everything is ok...for now.
