Anyone have any experience with mixing Pintail and Flame wrasses together if they are introduced at the same time?

Thanks
Steve

I have that exact combo now. Pair of pintails and a trio of flames. Pintail pair was in first then male flame. Then females after. 110 tank. No issues

Thanks tank is a bit smaller than yours but they will just be in there with a pair of clowns... It's tied into my larger system (total of around 200 gallons of total volume)

If it's just one of each you should have no problems. Neither of those wrasses are on the aggressive side.

Dman, do you have a thread of your tank? I'd love to see it full of wrasses. I'd love to do something like that.

It will be a mated pair of each if all goes well.

What size tank? Your profile says 40 gallon and 20 long. Filtration issues aside, there may be aggression with all 4 of them in either tank. And that's without even knowing what else is in your tank. But good luck. It may work out.
PS
I had a large flame in a 60 gallon with a Rhomboid Fairy and Diamond Tail Fasher wrasse in a 4ft 60 gallon tank. The flame was definitely the boss and chased the other wrasses from time to time.

Haven't updated it. It's a 70 gallon display, tied to an 80 gallon frag tank with a 55 gallon sump, 20 gallon fuge, filtration is over sized.

Sorry, I don't really. I tried, but I'm a tech idiot and couldn't download pics from my iPad on photobucket.

my tank is 860g so there are lots of fish in it. Wish I was more tech savvy.

Also, more often than not a pair will not stay a pair. Wrasses are pairing fish. The have a harem with usually a dominant male(terminal or "supermale" as some refer) and then lots of females/juveniles.
In most people's tanks the female will turn to a male and if it's a small tank, can be problematic

I have a couple "pairs" in my tank, and the female has not changed yet, but they never swim together. It also happens to be my flames and my pintails. I believe the reason the females have not changed is the fact that there is no reason for them to change. I also have a harem of rhomboids that consist of a terminal male, as alter male, and 2 females.
No harassment or change has happened in probably the 8 months I've had them.

I would be totally willing to help you with getting a blog setup or a thread for you to share your tank.

You can PM me for my phone number and I can talk you through how to post pictures. I'm dying to see your setup.
