Recovering Detritophobe
I'm usually more of an angelfish and butterfly guy, but when I saw this fish I had to take it home. Can someone tell me what species and male/female?

Thanks

(P.S. - bought the fish in November, it was quarantined and has settled in to the DT. Just getting around to posting about it now.)

Pintail Wrasse ID

Thanks. That's what I thought, but then I started looking at pictures of other pintails and got myself confused. He looks even better in person than in my crappy pictures and is very personable too.

This fish keeps getting more and more attractive... but he must know it, because he's becoming quite a little brat. What started as hardy, well adjusted, not timid, and good eater (why I described him as personable in my last post) has essentially turned into him spending all day displaying and darting after the anthias, chromis, and sometimes the other wrasses. Luckily he's small and isn't doing any damage... he is mostly ignored by the other fish despite his boisterous attitude.

A couple pics of him cruising the tank hunting pods as well as displaying (pics still don't so him justice, he is very hard to photograph).

These seem to be showing up everywhere now............my LFS had two come in Friday.

Is he just flashing or actually squabbling/nipping with the anthias and other dither fish.

I was contemplating on adding one, but don't need a boisterous fairy wrasse.

It's beautiful specimen. I had one but it died in QT. I'll definitely be getting one along with a Diamond Tail flasher wrasse once my 100 gallon is up and running. I just love their colors + the shape of their tails.

There's more black than usual in the dorsal fin in that one; typically it's a localized splotch and not a streak.
