Has anyone here kept or currently keeping pipe fish? If so I would love to pick your brains.

i did, think easy seahorse. some pepole get lucky and keep them in a reef. they don't have scales. mine were stung by coral (died) and an acan ate another. pretty much have to set up a tank for them or get lucky .

I have a 40g corner and not much in it right now planning to make it species specific.

I had some pipes they were really cool the key is to get some that are healthy to begin with. be sure they are eating when you get them also they cant swim will in flow so low fow is also a key

I tried as well. They met similar fates. Think low flow, low maintenance. Try to get some from a reputable dealer that eat frozen. Although established rock and a large refugium for pods supply would be best IMO.

I have a sump but a small hob refugium might be good I am reading just for pods

The bigger the fife the better for signathids from what I remember. They like to hunt and peck all day and that adds up.

I remember Mark Klier's SH set up. Acans, zoos, macro algae in a low flow 90 cube lit with VHOs and a big sloppy soupy refugium. NICE!

I have never owned any myself, but it seems Low Flow, Super Stable Water Parameters, and an abundant food source is key to having happy Pipefish.
