Pipefish not Eating

I have recently purchased a pair of Dragonfaced Pipefish. They do not accept frozen mysis or Brine. I am culturing Artemia as of yesterday, but it will be at least 2 days before they get to a suitable size to feed to the pipes. The tank is 40 Gallons, and 36" long. The current tankmates are 2 juvenile H. Kuda. Is there a way I could get them to feed on dead foods?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in Advance,
Lev.

Were they eating frozen at the store? If they were only eating live food at the store, you can't just stop live food and expect them to eat frozen. They must be trained over a period of time to accept frozen foods. Some will never accept frozen foods. Good luck.

I had recently purchased a pair of Dragonfaced Pipefish from LFS their about 4" long and I have problem getting them to eat frozen food I am feeding them baby brine and they seem to be doing well I feed the about 2-3 times a day. Hopefully they will start eating frozen soon.

Well good luck with yours

They are feeding on baby Brine and a Zooplex (cyclop-eeze type thing). I did not stop live food, I feed them 3 times a day with enriched BBS and Zooplex. I'm just trying to train them to eat frozen. Is there a way? Thank you for the replies.

Use a clear turkey baster as a pipette...then pick out the small mysis and present it in front of them. Over time they tend to get used to the pipette and will eat from it....

My dragon pipe fish has never taken food from me. It find enough food from my live rock. "Waldo" is going on 10 months now in my tank. What a great addition.

In a mature system, dragonface pipes shouldn't need to be fed. I have a dragonface in a 29 that I haven't fedd in over a year.
