Pistol Shrimp - Has it disappeared?

I got a pistol shrimp and watchman combo the other day, but haven't seen the shrimp since. This is my first pistol shrimp, so I don't know much about it. Any tricks on finding it?

I know it's supposed to make a noise at night, but how often does it make that noise and how loud is it?

Man, I hope it made it and didn't die on me! The watchman is still with us, but I'd hate to lose the pistol.

Pistol shrimp hide alot in their burrow, you can see them often though when they come out. Pistol Shirmp don't always pair up with a goby, it could be in another burrow of its own some place hidden.

It could also be molting.

How big is it and are there any aggressive tank mates that could have eaten or killed it?

You got the two at the same time, the goby probably hasn't even made its burrow yet or established its territorry so the pistol is probably lost and can't find a goby to pair up with.

i dont see my pistol much either. they hide about 90% of the time and they are very active around night time.
