great thank you your input, id like to find something live to feed the fish and coral in my 150g. any suggestions on an easy way to achieve this?
You mean harvesting those pods? There pretty small so you'd need to use a very fine mesh net. Why not just buy some DT's Phytoplankton or Oyster Feast?

This is the clearest picture I have, today. Tomorrow I will take a better one, to help with the ID.

Ideas, I know an urchin, was looking for a classification.

It's a pencil urchin...Eucidaris tribuloides. Great find!

Can you get a pic without the flash? I can't see what I'm looking for in the pic.

I've found something this week that's living in the holes in the rock right underneath my paly's. It's small enough that I can't get a clear picture. Not sure if it's multiple worms of some sort or if it's something with tentacles as I've seen multiples sticking out from different holes at the same time all in a small proximity.

Each tentacle or worm is about the thickness of a piece of thread and I've seen them stick out up to about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. They are banded, alternating black and white or a dark red and white, I can't tell for sure as they are so thin. If I look real close I can see what looks like very fine bristles running down the sides, but I can't tell if it goes all the way or just near the end. When they do stick out, they move about somewhat snakelike.

I do have bristle worms in other places, but they do look quite different. Like I said, I can't tell for sure if they are worms or some sort of tentacles. Is there any micro 'octopus' like critters that could have hitchhiked, or are they more likely some sort of worm?

It is directly in the center of photo not sure how well it will show. thin as a hair, alternating stalk is brown and white. the "club" on the end is like a thin dandelion seed head spikes with small white blunt ends. hope the photo is clear cant really tell with photo bucket. If not I will set up macro tomorrow evening.

this is not a pencil urchin but looks like it is most likely a reef urchin Echinometra viridis the white rings around the base of the spines is a good way to tell the difference

Not sure how I've missed these in the past, but there are quite a few of them. Are they limpets? Are they good or bad?

Please help me ID these things

Please help me ID these things

Hey all, while doing some equipment mods in my sump I came across a ton of these things growing on the baffles. There are probably fifty growing, and some, like as you can see from this pic look a little different. Are they some kind of larvae? or something nasty that needs to go?

Thanks!
