Spaghetti worm. Harmless.

I thought the sphagetti worms were white ? These seem to never come out of the hard cylinder structure and they grow directly on the coral. Im wondering if they affect the coral because the sps which have them on them seem to not be growing anymore and looking pale.

I have the same thing growing in my tank and they go out when I feed the fish. My Mandarin is keeping them under control.

Your pic is blurry but look up vermatid snails. They live in hard tubes. You will recognize them by the strings of mucous they produce to capture food. That mucous can bother coral.

ID help please

ID help please

Hi, I am very new, and am hopeful that someone will help ID these guys for me. Not the best for picture quality, but the best I could get.

Is this an Aiptasia?

Any help is much appreciated :)

Found two things swimming after lights up tonight. They appear to be worms of some sort, about a half inch long, swimming upwards in a tight corkscrew fashion. Any ideas what they might be? My Clown tried to eat one but spit it out twice, after which the worm swam away...

Could be epitokes, part of the reproductive cycle of polychaete worms.

I'm too interested in getting them under control, they bother not only sps but also lps, preventing corals from opening

Managed to take a picture of one of the "firm jelly globs" I wrote about in my last post here. It's an egg case of some sort and it looks like one of the eggs hatched. The critter still inside the glob.

Those are strombus snail eggs :) (the little striped conch looking ones you mentioned)

On vermetids I have heard of people just super gluing them at the tip or breaking off the tubes. Mine have never gotten out of hand so that is just second-hand tips.
