Good or bad?

Haven't added anything new to the tank in the way of sand, rock or livestock, in over 6 months, (most recent was a saddleback clown maybe 7-8 months ago), and now all of a sudden a few of these have shown up.

At the moment they're only tiny, maybe 3-4mm in size, but are they something we need to kill off before they spread or are they OK to let live?

First pic should be aiptasia. You can remove with vinegar, with a paste made of kalk, with wurdemanni shrimp. Best if you can remove the rock and threat it outside.

Second pic is an asterina star.

Hi All just got my first salty tank started. Looking to make a skimmerless reef in a 33. I have quite a gbit of experience in fresh, but this is the first excursion into salt.

Its been 3 days since the start, 40 lbs of live rock is in and 30lbs of aragonite. Looking through the rocks I have found a couple small starfish, some dead sponges and this thing... What is it?

Just wondering if you got your rock from Florida, I think the first pic might be a blushing star coral if so. The second pic looks like a sponge to me, it might die off or live which is good imo. The third, well not so good if your talking about the anemone center stage. A hypodermic needle and boiling water might help.

The third picture looks like a hidden cup coral. Not sure about the first & second ones.

yes it came from Florida the third is not an anemone it retracts into a starish shaped base. there are about five of them in one area that never move. i thought the second was a sponge i have alot of it in about three different colors.

Is this rock & sand worth $110?

Is this rock & sand worth $110?

I hope this is the correct place for this post. I was looking at craigslist in the Houston, Tx area and found someone that would sell me 20lbs of sand and 30 lbs of "live rock" for $110. Previous to this I was planning to go with macrorock 30lbs and a bag or 2 of direct ocean sand. What do you think? I am starting a new 29g biocube.

While your here I would get live rock of CL but buy new sand, just me but you don't know whats in the sand.

Soooo I'm new to both this forum and to reef tanks, just got some live rock in my tank a day ago. I'm curious what these 2 things are. The first one looks kinda like a bristol worm. It's alive, i know that much. I have a few of them living in the holes in the rock
The second thing: Green Umbrella/pod/flower (lol) came with the very colourful chunk of live rock I got. I have zero ideas as to what it is.
A little help would be mega appreciated
