Pix & ID: Critters that come in your rocks: the good and the bad.

This is my first tank and the first week into cycling the new tank.

Found this guy yesterday. Can't seem to really identify it by searching. Anyone have any ideas on this??

This might sound silly, but I believe it's a small brittle star that has undergone fission (one way in which they can reproduce). It will grow back all 5 feet in time.

I found something swimming in my filter floss. Looks sort of like a shrimp. Any ideas on what it is? Sorry the picture isn't great but its the best I could do.

Thanks.

Any idea what these may be? I have many small white dots. These are in the "sump" portion of my tank. They do not appear to move. Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Kimberly. That is what I was thinking. Just thought it was odd that none of them "coil" up but instead jet straight out. I feel better now though.

Tried to look through this entire post but to be honest my attention wondered so much I got lost. Could any on possibly tell me what these are. To the left of the light. They are red with little fingers coming off them and they showed up about a week into the water being put in the tank.

Can't see anything in that pic.

Its the bwst pic I could get. The little red "spots" to the left. They are firmly attached to the rock and if you touch them they do not retract or anything. I will try again a little later to get a better pic. The tank is still cycling so if its terrible then I can get it out with out any live stock issues. I am sorry on my phone it looks so much better a picture.

found this on the glass, some sort of nudi I suppose. good or bad? I have it in a small drinking glass right now just need to know if I should flush it or dump it in. thanks

Cool. Fogured it wouldn't change anything but I told you I would get you a better pic so I wanted to do what I said.

You did say they were safe correct? Anything I need to worry about touching? Thanks again for the id.
