Placement of Gigantea

I've had this carpet for about a month to a month and a half and when I bought him from another person he came in on a large chunk of Pukani Rock where he'd been in that person's tank. I had read the Gigantea's prefer to attach to the bottom of a tank and live in the sand. Should I try to re-arrange the rock to place it near the bottom to see if it wants to attach?

Lately the mouth has been opening some and I can see what appear to be two teeth. It will close back up but mostly every morning I see the mouth open when the lights come on and then it will close up in the next hour or so after lights on. As for flow, I have two Koralia 750s, a 1050, and my return which is around 700gph (points in the nems direction) for flow. This is on a 180 gallon tank. The lighting is currently a 6 bulb 48" Current fixture with 4 month old ATI T5 bulbs. Parameters are fairly stable (temp and salinity) with the exception of PH being low (7.8-8.0) and alkalinity moving around based on usage (7-10dkh). I'm trying to get a 2 part solution going to dose baking soda and limewater to maintain ph but getting it just right without causing a fast spike is taking me a while.

So is my lighting and flow acceptable? Does it sound like maybe the anemone isn't too happy with the PH and Alk? How are others dosing alk and maintaining a stable PH? Just reactors and dosing pumps?

gigantea carpet anemone does NOT like to be in sand. It attaches to rock. Lives on rock.

pH 7.8-8.0 isn't low. It's fine.

two part solution = alkalinity and calcium supplement. If you use baking soda for alk supplement what are you using for calcium supplement?

limewater adds calcium and alkalinity- use as makeup for evap
