I try not to post often (as you can see) since I am a fish store owner. But I've been seeing this thread for a while and want you to know cheaper salt is out there. Reef crystals is always 39.99 a bucket (160 gal) and instant ocean is 34.99 a bucket. Naturesbestfishandreef.com/sales

Start a new thread for a salt buy. I'd be interested in a box or two.

I did a Google search on salt group buys and it seemed that the best prices were had when a LFS was involved. Maybe Nick at Upstate Aquatics or the guys in Van Etten have some inside knowledge.

I would always buy salt when I was at ABC Aquarium in Fairport, but I never make it all the way up there anymore. They used to sell RC by the box for $48 I think.

I am calling the order in tomorrow. I believe it will take a week to get so not to bad. I am going through a lfs. I am also ordering some fish . will post tomorrow night after work,will most likely be late 10ish. go Seattle.

Sweet let me know when its in, ill swing down and pick up a box. How much did it come out per box? ill ask a guy here at work as well if he wants one.

so heres the latest on the salt order. he says he will place the order this Thursday I should be able to pick it up the following weekend. if all goes well I plan to go up Friday night so anybody that would like a box can pick up Saturday at my place or let me know and I can bring it with me on sunday to horseheads as I like to have breakfast at the old train diner on old Ithaca rd. sorry for the delay just trying to get the best possible price.
