Planning for a Haddoni - Substrate

I searched the forum but couldn't find a good answer. Is there a specific type of sand that you shouldn't use? I was planning to use CaribSea Fiji Pink, but I know someone who has an extra couple bags of Seaflor Special Grade and was thinking of buying that instead. Is that too rough a substrate or should a Haddoni be ok in it?

I've been using sand that's about the same size, with my haddoni, for about the past 10 years. Never had a problem. I personally wouldn't use any other size sand. The really big stuff traps to much poo. The really fine stuff blows everywhere, and you can't clean it. With this sand, I run a gravel vac through it once in a while, and it stays squeaky clean. It may not be the exact same sand though. I collected mine, myself.
Here's the sand I use. The shrimp is about three inches long.

I use Seaflor for exactly the reasons mentioned by EC... It is large enough not to be blown around by my Vortechs and it can easily be vaccuumed without all of the sand being siphoned out... My Haddoni appears to be pretty happy in it, though it took a while for it to dig through the substrate... That may have been because of the LFS conditions it was in before I aquired it. It was under PC's for over a month, and I'm not sure it was fed. I've had it for a few weeks now and it has settled in nicely... :D

Thanks for the advice! I'll take the deal, and when my tank is ready I'll be sure to post pics of my new carpets. :)

BTW wish me luck. I'm setting up a 210g and my plan is to have a red haddoni and a blue haddoni, and force them to either side of the tank with a high flow channel in the middle. Not enough to ruffle them, just enough flow so they don't both end up on the same side, if I can help it. :)
