Please build me the perfect 30 gallon using tunze

Im impressed with the reputation of tunze. I am starting a 30 gallon cube and I dont plan to drill for overflows. Is the reef 500 a good soilution. how about a tunze electric for water movement?

The reefpack could probably do it all on it's own but it is kind of big for a 30gal. I might instead go with a 770 Comline filter with an Osmolator and 3110/2 skimmer. This way the total footprint of the filter is about 6" by 4.5" rather than 9" by 4.5". I would add a 7200/2 for circulation. If you haven't bought the tank yet the Reef Pack is really a great filter but it could easily handle something twice the size and Oceanic used to make a 55cube- 24" by 24" by 20". I understand the attraction to the 30 though it is a sharp looking tank.

I realize this thread is really old, but it relates to what i am interested in.

I am in the process of setting up a 37g "almost cube" - the Oceanic model.

I am curious, Roger, if you think the reefpack would provide enough circulation for this tank. Obviously as far as filtering and topoff, it is great, but I am wondering if I should plan to supplement the circulation. If so, what would you suggest?

The filtration would be more than adequate, the flow is about 400gph and I would probably want more but a small pump like a Maxi Jet near the surface might be all you need. Honestly if it was me I would wait for the new Nano Reef Pack 200 because it is half the size, to that I would add a 7200/2 with a single controller and an osmolator, the small reef pack will not include an osmolator but it will be about $200.

I understand the final prototype is done, It was a concept we developed in November, it will use a new pump and a more powerful version of the 3110/2 skimmer powered by this pump. I expect in May it will be available.

Thank you yet again for the info. I should have asked this in my previous post, but what is the expected difference in the footprint of the nano reefpack vs. the reefpack 500? i.e. whare the dimesions of each?

The Reefpack 500 is about 5" deep 10" wide and 11" tall with another 4" in height above the water for the skimmer cup. The 200 will be about 4" deep, 5" wide and 9" tall with the same added 4" above for the skimmer cup.
