Hi

I have a 180 gallons sps predomint tank . Dimensions are: 74 inches (190 cm) * 23,6 inches (60 cm) * 23,7 inches (60 cm).

Currently i have 2 HQI (250 W) and 2 T5 (85 W).

Do you think it is ok that light ? Please give me suggestions.

Thanks

I think that 2x250w (even in excellent reflectors) wont get the proper coverage and intensity. Even in lumenarcs which give a wider spread of light I wouldnt go over 30" wide. I think 3 250s in lumenbrights would be an adequate amount of light for an sps dominant tank. the t5s are mostly for dusk/dawn and maybe enought for that but I would stagger 4 bulbs rather than 2.

rule of thumb is 1 mh per 2ft of tank.
