I am freaking out a little bit. I have had this tank up and running for about 3 months and I don't have much in there right now. This is a 55 gallon tank with T5 lights. I have 2 black and white clowns, 1 lawnmower blenny, crabs and snails. I have struggled with this anemone since the day I got it about a month ago. The first night it got caught in my HOB fuge. I let it come out naturally and it moved behind a rock for about a month. 2 days ago I turned the rock around and it seemed ok, but a few hours ago it looked like it was splitting. Im not sure if it's healthy or not. I am new to this so I just want to make sure everything is ok. :lolspin:Please check out these picks and let me know what you think. I don't want it to crash my tank. If you need better pics let me know. If you need anymore info let me know.

Tempted to say both.

It doesn't look good at all, some more info would be helpful.

What are your current parameters -- with numbers please
What lights do you have?

bubble-tipped ?

bubble-tipped ?

Your tank has not matured enough to sustain an anenome, give it atleast 6 months to a year before you try again.:reading::reading::reading:

This makes me so mad because I was told by my LFS that it was ok to put this in. I even asked if it was to early. Oh well, not shopping there anymore.

I would say it is splitting- just cant say if it is in two or from this earthly existance. The age of a tank has nothing to do with the ability of a anemone to survive in it. A stable balanced tank with Water quality, light, flow and experience are the keys. It is just common for a new tank to come with a new aquarist.

+1 syrnx. I bought an RBTA for a 3 month old tank and like yours my LFS said it was ok. It has since split and has grown like a weed. Tank is now 7 months old.
