hey reefers!

Got a small piece of this a few days ago.....purchased with some other macros I bought......I got some codium.............as well as a macro sold as "string of pearls".....and they also gave me this small piece........

Besides the codium......i was hoping you guys could lend your ingenious insight to these two unidentified macros.........

always appreciated.......thanks!

Ok, no matter what i do....i can not post a pic here....this has been for months now......can someone please help me out here!!!! i'm being driven mad now!!!!!!!!!!!!

no matter how large I make it........or small rather....it stil won't post..........unless it's an inch by an inch......then the picture is not viewable at all to you guys......

can we walk me through this......maybe you can help me resolve this as well????

Help!

when you save the img are you using standerd compression .jpg or something else?

try using MS Paint to save as a jpg for low byte size with good quality.

rocco,

If you can't get the compression thing send me the image (my e-mail is in my profile) and I will compress it and post it.

any clue with this macro as well??????

also, any help with this pic posting this further??? I saved it uder paint like you had mentioned.......but im unsure of how to resize and what not under paint for a maximum size for RC??? Is there a trick to getting the pic to post within the thread rather than a link being shown????????????

good thing the first one got there.......no clue how though!!!!

Ahhh Kevin, thank you.

Glad you gave it a look.

I appreciate you giving me those species names.

Seems as though those species of algae do in fact look similiar i shape and texture.......yet they are different then the ons I've attained.

I've been told the featery looking one is a type of fern/gracillaria........

BUT the one I'm truly concerned and am trying to hunt down as best I can......is the red one sold to me as string of pearls.

The difference here is.....the oval red pearl shaped bubbles don't grow off of a runner......ya know.......each oval grows off of itself in a straight line.........whereas the ones I searched from the species you gave me......as were growing off a runner.....

Geez..........this is going to be a hard task huh???!!!!

I'll post a pic of the entire string of pearls.......thank you again kevin, you've been most helpful.

Thank you Kevin.......

seems as though the feathery red algae.....is a species of fern/gracillaria....so i've ben told.....

My real concern is the one sold to be as string of pearls that i attained......

the difference I've found from the search from the species you gave me was that mine......

the oval red pearls, grow in a straight line from ONE ANOTHER and don't grow off a runner.....ya know what I mean........the entire algae is made up and lengthened by the actual oval shaped algae itself........which makes me believe that this task is going to be harder than I thought.....to find out what algae this is.

So, i'm trying to find a red macro which doesn't grow from runners per say......where it will just continue to grow and spread from each individual oveal piece......

here's a pic which may show what i'm speaking of.......hope it works.

Thanks again kevin, you've ben most helpful.
