adult hawaiian flame wrasse was fine last night, today all of the sudden he looks as if something is wrong with his boyence bladder, he seems to be weak because he is being pushed around by water current, floating up and down with current. not using his tail fins but constantly moving his dorsal fins. breathing more than regular. almost looks like paralyzed. this i noticed happend to my lineatus wrasse. I removed him and put him in my refugium (quarantine) hoping that weakness will not let him become prey to the cleaners/crabs. he has no spots, color is normal just swimming very lethargic. I have had ick before however no other fish present these types of symptoms, and previously the ick was resolved. any ideas, love my wrasse and he has 2 females as mates.

Not uncommon for deeper water fish to have swim bladder issues. To bring fish up from deeper water they either have to go through a very slow decompression or have their air bladder pinned as they are being brought up. This fish may not recover.

sudden onset though?

sudden onset though?

Swimming just became impaired,is there a way to decrease odds of mortality, or assist with recovery? He is still in refugium, was lethargic and had rapid breathing when I checked on him last night.
