Banggaii cardinalfish, especially wild caught, have been known to spontaneously die when you get them home randomly. They have a very low survival rate, I believe, for the wild caught ones.

The ones that are tank raised are supposed to be very hardy.

a ph of 7.9 isnt terribly low....

im thinking bad fish in the first place.....

even in my established 180 i still lose a new fish here and there especially high at risk fish are wild caught that havent been QT'd at a fish store for a while
