please help my rhomboid wrasse

microbubbles

ugh. my 2 week old female rhomboid wrasse is not looking so good right now. she can't seem to stay horizontal- she swims very erratically (upside down or vertical most of the time) and seems gravitationally challenged in general. she's spending a lot of time on the floor and flips out every minute or so.

i'm not positive, but i'm thinking her air bladder popped or something. is there anything i can do? she's the prettiest female rhomboid i've ever come across and i'd hate to lose her. TIY

My sixline wrasse did the same thing a couple of years back, but after about 3 weeks, somehow miraculously recovered. Hope the same will happen for you. Best of luck

I usually put fish container with holes and put air pump in there to keep the fish get oxygen.

Does it still have all her fins? I had a fish swim all crazy and erratic before and I didn't notice it had a little slice on its tail fin but it got better after awhile. I hope your fish is ok. It's a stunning fish!

Btw I'm sooo loving your pink yuma collection...wanna get rid of any ;)

thanks for chiming in, everyone. i appreciate the help and empathy.
daniel- there's a good amount of dissolved oxygen in the tank... (microbubbles, haha) but i guess the breeder cup can ease the feeding problems, as i haven't seen her taking more than one bite of food today.
reeferchick85- the fins are all perfect. she took a slight wound on day 2 in the main tank, looks like my borbonius took a broadsided bite out of her side when she ventured into his territory. as far as the wild pink yumas, they're a pain in my behind. acclimating them to halides has been quite the task and almost all of them elected to ditch the rock they came anchored on at some point. that's why you see one in that cup. my success rate w/ the wild ones are 75% at best. so quite a bit of money's already been flushed down the toilet. i'll try to remember to hit you up if i see some new babies :)
jack and aquariumclown- maybe it's a decompression issue? i know they're not shallow water fish... is it possible that they have some nitrogen poisoning? i talked to ali (amazing aquariums & reefs) today and he suggested maybe i should throw her in my seahorse tank where the flow is low and feeding would be less of a challenge.
i hope she comes around. i don't think i saw her take any food today and i fed a LOT. the male looks a bit funny now too... looks like he's swimming off his axis as well. hopefully things start looking better soon

I know everyone it trying to cheer you up, and I'm not against being optimistic....

But my fish have all died when they started doing that.

That said, I wish you both luck.

So what ended up happening with your Rhomboid? I'm asking because my Velvet Wrasse is doing the same thing right now.

The situations gotten worse... But they're both alive. They're back in hyposalinity. The female has lost her ability to do anything other than just work her gills, so she's
In a breeder cup floating. Otherwise shes stuck to the grille of the overflow. Interestingly she keeps on living so maybe theres a light at the end of the tunnel. The male I still have some hope for. He's swimming very awkwardly, but he's still feeding and still looks great. But overall, I think it's way too early to tell. If it were me, I would treat your wrasse as soon as he's showing signs of this. It took me 2 days to get the male out and I'm sure there's something to be said about catching it early. Good luck

I'm just going to keep them in there until I see some results. I think deadmanh was right- maybe you should be prepared for the worst.
