Hi everyone,
Found this little guy moving around in my tank today. I have noticed that one of my zoanthids is irritated and am wondering if this little guy might have done something? Just wondering if this is a bristle worm or a fireworm? Looks like a fireworm to me. I need to know if he's good or not....

He's sitting in a little plastic container at the moment, so anyone's thoughts so I can
decide what to do with him would be great. Thank you.

Looks like a bristleworm to me. You almost never see fireworms of the destructive kind in the hobby these days. Eunice worms [4 tentacles at head] and a few nasty polychaetes, yes. THis isn't one of those.

Hi,
Thank you. I love your cat. Oh hey you're from Spokane too? That's great! Do you go to the reef meetings? Maybe I know you? I just read on a post before mine that fireworms can damage the foot of a clam. =/ I really don't want that. Just want to make sure. Thank you again.

odds are if you found one you have lots...i saw one one night and the next i noticed atleast 15 more in the same rock...i have the exact same worm in my tank and it isnt bothering any of my stuff...from what i was told by leslie and the site she linked they are harmless poop-i-vors..

LOL i wish i had more of them...turbo snails are complete slobs...

i thought the enucids had 5 tenticles...
