what do you feel is responsible for this ? light ? flow ? water parameters ?
I had one of my mariculture millepora doing the exact reverse... ie losing the scale apearance of radial corallites...

Don’t have pics but one of the best brown to beautiful is the Oregon tort. It came in brown with an off tip and turned to Oregon tort.

I think flow was probably the main factor for the corallite scales, and light and parameters for the color transformation. It was a mariculture piece that slowly faded away in a poorly lit low flow tank at the LFS.
