plumbing Sequence Dart on 180g or similar

Ok, i am trying to find ideas on how to replumb my dart to get more use out of it. Right now i have it turned back because it will overflow my returns. I have 4 outlets 3/4" and the water flows not much better than pouring a 2-liter bottle!

before i buy bunch of pieces trying stuff (that i can't afford to do!), how are you using a large output pump as a return?

I thought about getting enductors (sp?), or downsizing the ends to 1/2"

The dart cant push through eductors. do you have all four outputs flowing at the same time?
The problem sounds like you have to throttle back.

yes, all 4 are open at the same time.
i do have it throttled back now, but not getting much flow from the pump, getting lots of water moved, but not the benefit of the flow.
so you think that is the best it will get?

You need at least four 1" returns or two 1.5" returns....3/4" is not sufficeant.....your waisting the pump......

If you click my red house on page 7 I think 6 or 7 is all the info you need for running a dart return...how to measure flow, head pressure, static pressure etc....hth....

troylee - my returns aren't 3/4, it is the 4 outlets pumping into the display. I will check your site!

when you get it done, add some pics of your plumbing. I will have to figure out how to make my tank work, or add something without drilling.

I am running from my dart with 1.5" into a 1.5" WYE fitting and out with two 1.5" plumbing out both ends into one 1" return at each corner. Then up to a "T" with 3/4" returns.

Maybe i need to run the outlet into a manifold, and then to the drilled returns. I could bleed the manifold back into sump (refug maybe) to cut down flow. I also think it would help come up with a way to add a safe external drain.

I may need to ask for some advise from the guy posting in your thread!

its best to run the 1.5" return pump pipe up the back of the tank to the top frame then into a mainfold with (4) 3/4" locklines.....to a get flow the bigger the lockline.....more pressure the small the lockline....using "Y"s will help

Isn't the dart a whole lot of pump for a return. It seems 3600 gal through a sump is more than necessary. Why not use dart as a closed loop. But then again if it works for you....

i am working on a new setup. going to use the dart to feed my reactors. unfortunately the dart is a flow pump, not pressure. so it moves alot of water, just not high pressure.
