what do you people use to seal your plumbing connections? just regular plumbers putty and tape? anything specific i should avoid? thanks for the feedback.

most commonly, if it's slip joints use the regular PVC primer and cement. If it's threaded, just some teflon tape or paste.

I've experienced salt creep with silicone. I would go with PVC primer and cement. If it's threaded, just some teflon tape or paste. Just as 46FiatYamaha & dkh0331 says.
