Hi all,
A friend of mine has this type of algae growing throughout his tank.
It is very interesting. It's red-purple in color. Pocillopora-like in structure, but spongy and somewhat fuzzy. Grows in clumps, no taller than an inch with compact branches. Appears not to grow in areas of high flow. And if it helps, he has seen his coral beauty and turbo snails pick at it, though, he's not sure they were actually eating it.
