Is it normal for Pods to hide out under the mantle (on the shell)? I have this big pod about 1/4" long camping out underneath the mantle of my maxima. The clam doesnt like opening that part of his mantle up all the way. Should I try to manually extract the pod?
My clam is in good health other than that pod making his home on the mantle. The pod has been there for at least a week. I discovered the pod when I saw two tiny antennae poking out from underneath the mantle. I stuck a toothbrush in there and the pod came out and appeared to attack the bristles. Any suggestions are appreciated.
